If you're looking for a fun and educational kindness activity for your kids, look no further! Join us for the 'Sew a Softie' Global Kids Sewing Party.

The Global Kids Sewing Party is a month-long annual celebration held every March, where kids sew a softie to gift to someone in their community. It is an opportunity to celebrate creativity, community and kids. 

It was founded in 2019 by Sydney based Trixi Symonds. You can read more about Trixi and the sew a softie movement here.

SEW A SOFTIE:

Kids will be guided in creating a 'softie' or soft toy made of felt and stuffing. They will start by designing the shape and features of their softie using tools such as scissors and glue, before moving on to learning hand-sewing stitches with embroidery needles and thread.*  It will be a fun and rewarding experience for all. 

This is a great opportunity for kids to learn to sew by hand, and to discover how much joy they can bring to someone else by giving them something they've created and made all by themselves.

All materials are provided. 

DONATIONS WELCOME:

We are offering this event free of charge and instead encourage you to make donations on the day, which will go towards the Palestine Children's Relief Fund (PCRF)

Your contributions will have an impact on the lives of children and families in Gaza who lack the means to obtain food, shelter, and medical care.
