WORKSHOP – Get To Know Your Overlocker – 18th Jan 2025

Duration: 1pm to 3:30pm 

Required: Bring Your Own Overlocker 

Skill Level: All Welcome

Do you have an overlocker that you hardly use? Maybe you haven’t even taken it out of the box, or are scared to use it? Then this class is for you!

Bring your own overlocker and we'll show you how to use it, from threading and general machine maintenance, to locking edges of seams, including difficult shapes.

We keep our class size small at max 6 participants to ensure everyone gets plenty of attention.

• Adjusting stitch length
• Adjusting cutter width
• Controlling speed and accuracy
• Troubleshooting: How to adjust the tension

• How to disengage your knife/cutter
• How to sew a rolled hem
• How to sew a flatlock hem
  
  

COST INCLUDES:

• Tuition, tea, coffee and biscuits.
• Practice fabrics and cutting equipment.
• Group and one-on-one demonstrations of how to use your machine.
  
  

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING: 

• Your Overlocker **Please make sure your overlocker is in full working order before the class**
• Your Overlocker manual
• Power cable
• Overlocking thread for each spool holder (if you have 4 thread spools bring 4 reels of thread, different colours will be helpful for threading exercises)
• Optional: Any additional accessories you have for your overlocker
• Optional: Any fabrics or thread you’d like to try out or have had issues with in the past

Unfortunately our classes are non refundable. In the event that we are forced to cancel a class, we will endeavour to give you as much notice as possible and offer either a full refund or swap your booking to another suitable date.
